As the electric vehicle revolution gains momentum, there is a range of exceptional options available. If you seek a blend of style and performance in an AWD electric SUV, look no further than the 2023 Kia EV6. Its sleek exterior and precise handling make a lasting impression, while the EPA estimates a remarkable range of up to 310 miles on a single charge.

This year, the highly anticipated GT model takes the spotlight at the pinnacle of the EV6 lineup. Boasting an impressive 576 horsepower, it stands as Kia's most powerful production vehicle to date, capable of accelerating Kia Ev6 GT from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds. Meanwhile, the Light trim from the previous year has been discontinued, making way for the preferred midrange EV6 Wind trim, which receives our vote for most buyers.

Amidst the array of all-electric SUVs in its class, the 2023 Kia EV6 stands out as one of our favorites. Notably, it shares many of its electric vehicle components with the Hyundai Ioniq 5, allowing for a comparable performance. Ultimately, your decision may hinge on personal styling preferences. However, other noteworthy contenders worth considering include the Audi Q4 e-tron, Chevrolet Bolt EUV, Ford Mustang Mach-E, and Tesla Model Y.

Driving Impressions of 2023 Kia EV6

The Kia EV6 performs well, especially the GT model with impressive acceleration. However, there can be a slight delay before the power kicks in, causing wheel spin. Braking performance is not as good as expected, lacking consistency and pedal feedback. The EV6 GT's handling falls short, with the front end drifting wide and requiring effort to stay on track. Precise steering and throttle control are needed to prevent oversteer. While the car changes direction quickly, caution is necessary as the rear can lose traction easily. The all-wheel drive system helps with understeer but lacks refinement compared to competitors.

2023 Kia EV6 Price

  • Wind: $50,025

  • Wind AWD: $53,695

Which EV6 to Buy?

Top-of-the-line GT is great but we think most EV buyers are RANGE conscious than performance. For them, Pinkywheels recommend AWD Wind trim level. Another best part is the dual motors that generate a combined 320 horsepower compared with the single motor's lesser power output. Standard 19-inch wheels on AWD Wind also preserves driving range which is up to 282 miles of driving per single charge.
